FAQs
What kind of taco fillings will you have?
We are asking every runner for their preference on taco filling after registration and making decisions on taco options based on popular demand.
Will you have vegetarian food options?
Yes, there will be vegetarian food options besides tacos available for purchase.
Can I walk the race?
Definitely! One favor: we ask that they can hold a 15 minute per mile pace. That’s about four miles per hour, or a brisk power-walk. If you fall below this pace, we can unfortunately no longer guarantee course support, which is paramount for your safety. Aid stations and medical support will start to become unavailable to participants.
Is there an age minimum or maximum?
All runners must be 8 years of age or older on race day to participate in the Tacos & Margaritas 5K. Also, we ask you to make sure each participant is able to keep the 15 minute per mile minimum pace and that anyone under 12 is accompanied by a grown-up on course.
Children under 8 years of age can participate in our 1-kilometer "Little Taco Run".
Who can join the event?
Everyone is welcome regardless of their ethnic background, color, gender, or religion. We want to share our Latin food, music, and culture with all of our other communities.
Spectators?
Friends and family are welcome to come to the race, bring a motivational sign, and watch and cheer on participants! As always, please be respectful of private property and do not enter the race course. Pedestrians are permitted to cross the course at intersections where race officials are present to direct foot traffic.
Are strollers allowed?
Unfortunately no, baby carriers or strollers of any sort are not allowed on the course. This includes but is not limited to regular push strollers, umbrella strollers, jogging stroller, prams, wraps, backpacks, Bjorn’s, soft carriers, slings and wagons. However, we encourage spectators to bring the little ones to help cheer on the runners!
Are dogs allowed?
Sorry, no dogs are allowed on the course.
Are bikes allowed?
Feel free to ride your bike to the event, but please park it before you get to the course.
Where can I park?
There is free public parking all around Phalen Regional Park on a first-come-first-served basis as well as street parking. We highly encourage you to carpool.
Are there toilets onsite?
Tons of them, because when you gotta go, you gotta go.
Does the virtual run pass get me into the in-person race?
